In the area where I live Telkom did a big network upgrade about 2yrs ago with new junction boxes with Telkom stickers on the boxes, ADSL line speeds also increased, then a month or two ago all the junction boxes had the Telkom stickers removed and replaced with Open Serve.

What could be happening?

No. Openserve is the infrastructure company. Telkom is now a separate service provider that uses openserve infrastructure amongst others.

No change. The bakkies still park in Rangeview under the trees, drivers asleep.

Thanks guys, never knew that, have seen open serve bakkies all over the place.

So Open Serve now maintains all the Internet access infrastructure(copper and fiber and voice landlines?) and Telkom is supposed to be viewed as just a service provider that sells the bandwidth?

They probably paid McKinsley and Bain R100 million each for the latest "restructuring" exercise and this is their joint recommendation to increase profit margins?
