I was having huge problems sorting out a data line (not ADSL, but they use the same techies because the guy that came out said he also does ADSL).
The line was down for more than 3 days, and somewhere during my ranting with them I received the number for their "technician distribution" center, ie the department that co-ordinates technicians.
After calling the number to scream and shout, someone from their department called me to say that they had a complaint that I was calling their number directly, since that number was not for customers, and I should be calling 0800whatever.
I very politely explained
that I would continue to call that number for as long as it took to have my problem resolved, and that if they didn't like me calling the number, they should arrange to have a technician sent.
So as a gesture of goodwill towards their contemptuous attitude, I now make this number available to anybody who is looking for an update on when a technician is going to be sent out after you have logged a fault. Just call 012 680 6250 and if they ask, tell them that somebody in the call center gave you the number.
