Telkom are unable to release specific details regarding the cost of this new service but “can assure ADSL consumers that it will be competitively priced”.

Competitively priced from a company that has no competition... ho ho ho

Bring on the SNO and hopefully we will get some of the latest technologies instead of half baked "solutions" that the other countries didn't even think of as an option because they are so archaic.

Does this mean the line rental goes? Not in my lifetime methinks.

Lets hold them fruckers to their word. Competitively priced by anybody's definition usually means a couple of cents less than the competition. Who's the competition ? Well teklom is their own competition. So - 1 MB ADSL should cost a couple of cents less than 512 ADSL - yes ? - melikes.

Subscribers can currently wait as long as 2 months for their service after placing an order - Noooooo - as long as 2 years (Ask me for proof teklom - if you dare) !!!

The self-install service will require users to make use of Telkom equipment to alleviate problems with support. - LOOOOOOL - So that'z the trick - you MUST use an OVERPRICED, UNDERFEATURED TEKLOM PROVIDED ADSL ROUTER TO do a self install - LOOOOL - FRUCKERS

“This demonstrates that Telkom is cognizant of delays that users experience when applying for the service and that deploying this technology will further enhance the footprint and availability of the service,” noted Vapi. - No - this just demonstrated teklom's single minded profit only approach to everything it does. A better solution would be to increase the size of the installation and support team and provide training for support of other popular ADSL routers.

Man - I love teklom sooooooo much. *Shoots myself in foot with shotgun and runs around dripping blood hysterically shouting: I love teklom*

I dont think they should use the word 'competitive' as they are a monopoly and the only provider of ADSL in this country.

Besides that they have been proved to use anti-competitive tactics in the marketplace.

Riiiight, and you will still be charged the installation once off fee (R404? I forget now) knowing telkom...

And if you're late in paying you'll be forced to uninstall yourself too.

What does a company think when they fire people? To me it seems like Telkom think they are installing services fast enough, because they fire people left and right. Less human resources result in less productivity. And less productivity for Telkom means bringing things down to a crawl!

I still can NOT believe that they think they are successful. It boggles the mind.

I think they can stick their new ADSL services. If it takes me 2 - 3 months to get things installed and even 5 weeks to upgrade an existing service, which are anyway ripoff services, then I will have sold my soul to the devil.

I feel dirty and tired just thinking about interacting with Telkom. Please, help us...
