Hi all, so I think there are many of us who have mixed experience with the Uncapped LTE. I believe I have been lucky with some degradation of the speed from 88 to 30mb during peak but my issue is the ping since Thursday last week at 20:00-23:00 it spikes from 20ish to 200/300 plus. I was contacted in May by a Telkom rep and was told to connect to the MTN network when there is a problem. I have included the details from the email below:

From within the Web Management Interface, click Settings.

Click Dial-up.

Click Network Settings.

Under Network Search, click the Mode dropdown box.

Click Manual.

Click Apply.

Click on the MTN network option and then click OK.

The device has been registered on the network.

Has anyone tried this with any success mine fails every time it connects.

Yes I only connect to the MTN network. The telkom network is very strong in my home but once I leave home it has to many dead spots around JHB. The only thing I can think of why it does not connect is you might not have "allow roaming" ticked in settings.

Wait...wait...wait... you actually use this? :)

I did have roaming selected but ill try it again, what is your profile settings, its it MTN, MyMTN or is it still TelkomSA?

Are you on the uncapped LTE cause this might be different on their other packages, this wont even failover to 3G

As far as I know, Uncapped LTE only works on telkom network, not mtn roaming.

You're lucky, I got 800kbps when I tried the telkom LTE.

Ive heard that if your uncapped account goes onto roaming you get a thick charge at the end of the month?
never heard of this actually happening though.

Yea, my telkom LTE only getting 6 Mbps today with 150ms ping average. 4 out of 5 bars reception.

Anyone want to buy a B315 router at cost? Less than a week old.

So you get Telkom all network data which allows roaming on MTN, and then you get Telkom only data which only working on the Telkom network.

The uncapped offer only works on the Telkom network.

You see this is what I understood, but the person from Telkom that called me to find out how I found the LTE uncapped service was adamant that I could use the MTN network, that essentially what I am trying to confirm.
