Tell me more about the change of unrestricted apn to stop the throttling (I've hit the cap yet )

Just change the apn to "unrestricted" so that means create a new profile name it anything. leave username and password black and make the apn " unrestricted "

That does not always work though. I found that buying a cheap mo nice bundle on *123# usually removes the throttling but also not always.

There is some issues with the unrestricted apn. When using it all your data including p2p will go off your fair use limit of 300GB and NOT the p2p fair use. So just something to take note off but also means you can use standard apn until 50gb p2p is used up then change to unrestricted and then torrents usually run and full speed again.

Good morning gents, so the copper in my area (Nigel) have been stolen for the last time, and Telkom will not replace them again. There is no sign of fiber coming to this town in the near future, so I am left with Telkom LTE or Rain LTE. I have read about 100 pages of this thread and if I can get the speeds you gentlemen are seeing then Telkom looks like a viable option, even at R899. Would you recommend this product at this stage, or are there better options that you can recommend? Cheers and thanks

I personally think this product had stood the test of time. There has been issues but they weren't extremely out of the ordinary compared to other internet services & providers

I'd recommend this product

Interesting product with the R599 for uncapped 12am - 5pm. What happens after 5pm, are you on OOB rates?

If you were originally on the R699 / R799 then take the upgrade and B618

But as I am on the R599 (now R529) deal, no ways would I sign 24 months at R799 for a router
I dont mind as long as still uncapped.

I didn’t realize the move from 315 to 618 would make such a difference! Think I should try find a 618 somewhere now.

For the last 2 weeks I have the annoying situation where I must switch the router on/off every morning, when back from work and sometimes while watching evening shows. Irritating as anything
Did you try forcing it onto 4G only? Worked for me based on advice posted on MYBB thread.

I've been looking at places to buy a 2nd hand B618-65d, but they're very scarce all of a sudden. If I have to fork out R2799 for a new one to get better speeds, then I might as well take that amount and use it to start paying for fiber.
Ever got sorted? Looking for a B618 myself as I am on R529 uncapped and month to month.

Disappointed with new FUP reduced by 50% from old rules View attachment 533239
Sucks my wife uses the LTE for streaming netflix on SD (plus my social media and music streaming) and uses on average about 250GB.

Kids have separate fibre for their online gaming youtubing etc. Otherwise 300GB FUP for LTE would have been inadequate!
