Who needs fibre when you have Telkom LTE-A uncapped for R529 p/m

I think that @cavedog has 2 Huawei B618's. The 2nd one would contain a Rain SIM. S/he does some nifty link aggregation with the 2 connections, allowing him/her to achieve some pretty incredible speeds.

Indeed I do but that one was only on Telkom uncapped LTE and not adding the Rain bandwidth. Adding Rain gives me about 15.6MB/s download speed from steam

My setup is Telkom LTE with B315 and external antenna, Rain Mobile on a Telkom B618 no external antenna.
The 2 LTE devices are load balanced with an EdgeRouter X SFP (Ubiquity).
The 2 LTE devices are not used for wifi access.

I use free software called Dispatch proxy that @Yuu mentioned to me. This software basically hosts a socks proxy which you then enter in windows or in a specific app if you wish that then push the connections from that app to the 2 connections I have namely Rain and Telkom LTE-A.

This does not load balance but merely direct each tcp connection to the a data connection. You can set priorities too like for ever 4 connections to Telkom LTE 2 will be to the Rain connection.

This works best with Multi threaded downloads in a download manager, steam or even torrents and usenet. Works well with browsing too as a single web pages has multiple elements too it like ads images ect ect so it splits them over the 2 connection meaning quicker loading times.

Awesome setup. i just got my 2nd b618s but the 65d version.. so i got the 22d and 65d. Will try to get that switch and load balance my 2 routers and use a asus wifi router to broadcast wifi and lan

Rain in my area is excellent. speeds in excess of 120Mb and telkom is hitting around 60 to 70Mb so easily 170Mb achievable

Thanks for that info I'm getting one :) Running dispatch proxy on a windows pc is nice but having it done in a Router is just so much better.

Looks like I bought the last one with a R150 off voucher too. Just paid R535 for it.

also available at loot.

Really nice powerful interface and load balancing setup.

Works great with rain uncapped & telkom uncapped. I did find it leaks packets to rain during peak even if configured not too. Thank goodness for spend limit set at R250.

This is why I prefer the Peplink Balance range of routers.
