Yes some stores just do Contract sales and no cash like in Centurion Mall and Mall of Africa. They have 2 stores. 1 does contract sales only and the other one does everything cash and contract sales. You can still push for it though as the cash price is listed in the pamphlet.
correct. they now have express stores that only do contract and direct stores that process all landline and mobile.. direct stores accept cash orders

I would like to let a friend of mine take over my "uncapped" LTE (I'll continue to pay for it so there is no change in ownership in Telkom's eyes) - but he is in a different suburb. His address has LTE/LTE-A, etc according to Telkom's coverage map. My understanding is that my LTE modem/router is "locked" to my closest tower. Is that correct? Can I just take the modem/router to his house and plug it in, or must I request Telkom to "link it up" to his closest tower?

No it is not locked to a specific tower

Did you try the default password? It's usually underneath the router.

yes and my current password was just numbers

its taking me here : http://192.168.8.1/html/quicksetup.html

this is the only option i have ....i cant get pass the screenshot i posted first above
If you reset the router the "current password" will be the password the router shipped with, most likely on a sticker under the router. Very few of these are only numbers, so you might be misreading capital 0's as zeroes

Believe me, I've tried like 5 times. Didn't mistake any number/letter.

Last time I resetted my router, I wasnt taken to this link :http://192.168.8.1/html/quicksetup.html

Only now this is happening. If I could go to the main interface like before then maybe it would have worked but it's not possible to

Step 3 of 3 on the latest firmware is to change the login password (not the wifi password) - you can still use whatever is printed on the bottom of the router for your wifi network.

Anyone in the Primrose/Germiston area having issues with speed at the moment??

Since Saturday my speed has been less than 1Mbps. Naturally Telkom can't be bothered to actually help. They keep telling me the same stuff... Reset the Router, change the network, create a new profile.. All of which I've done ad nauseum...

I'd appreciate any advice...
