Well I pay around R530 for my Uncapped LTE anytime ;)
I'm assuming this after you've finished your two-year contract and not having renewed it (so you're now on month to month)?

Question is, can one still get uncapped at that price? I'm guessing not.

That is correct. It was R599 when I got it.

You can't get it anymore, no.

fair enough for new contracts, but the email is sent to existing R529 contract holders as an "upgrade"
Indeedy. I also received the email. Obviously didn't take it as that would have been super idiotic.

I did get a new router though, which I bought myself from Takealot. The Huawei B525 is a lot better than the B315 I got originally (faster speeds, wifi strength etc).

This might not be the right place, but how does the B525 compare to the B618?

Both can do LTE-A on Telkom. The B525 only has 2x2 mimo where the B618 has 4x4 mimo. Could make some difference but probably not going to make like 20Mbps difference. Both routers are pretty decent.

After many years on this package I'm going to cancel. Telkom has gone down even lower.

They can debit my Tyme bank account so they add R202 each month for failed debit order even if I pay manually. I have paid with my card on the website as payments usually reflect instantly but this time the payment was made and I have confirmation of payment made with an automated email yet Telkom can not see the payment has suspended my line and is refusing to open it even though I forwarded their own email as proof of payment. They told me that EFT's take time.... It's not an EFT Jesus is every single person at Telkom dumb or brain dead. WTF.

I'm over this company that blacklisted me before that failed to cancel the fixed line service and now is making life difficult on the mobile side.

I now use fibre for home internet so the LTE is unused. I figured that instead of cancelling perhaps I could find an alternate use for it. Is it possible to use the sim in a mobile phone? I have a dual sim device and using the uncapped data sim in that would be ideal, if it was possible.

That will work yes, but only in Telkom LTE coverage
