Permanently meaning what, after 12-6 as well as daytime?

After the 50GB FUP:
24/7, torrents/NNTP will download at 128kb/s until the end of the current month. All other traffic unaffected.

Before the 50GB FUP:
Torrents/NNTP will run full speed 12am-6pm. 128kb/s from 6pm-12am. All other traffic unaffected.

That's essentially what the official FUP says. I only doubted it because some users were seeing different behaviour, but then my hunch was the use of ssl on some the newsservers skewed the data.

This is the point that is confusing me actually. There seem to be conflicting reports.
3) No, they will be throttled 24/7 after the 50gb
4) Incorrect. Unshaped between 12am and 6PM (Whilst under 50GB FUP)3) No, they will be throttled 24/7 after the 50gb
VS
I am already being throttled on torrents I think but I'm currently downloading via http on full speed

We usually consume around 150 gigs in our household between the Xbox One, torrents/newsserver downloads, youtube, etc. around 100gig of that is probably torrents and newsservers. If we are going to be throttled after 50gig, I don't think this will work for us.

In that case, it won't work for you. Once you hit the 50GB, torrents will be shaped 24/7 till the end of the month.
All other traffic will always be full speed regardless, that is why http (in your quote) remained at full speed.

Dude take the +-R200 you will be saving and start paying for series, get hulu or Netflix and you wont go over 50 gig any more.

Sorry I am a bit new to all this stuff, How exactly does it work if you use put.io ?

1) Pay for a certain size of download space
2) Add torrent links
3) Service downloads the files to your space
4) You download the files over HTTP and delete when you're done

Thanks, makes sense.

Do you need any other services or programs apart from the put.io?

I'll just add here for completeness sake that Put.io is USD9.99 a month for 100gig. Wallhost.co.za is R99 for 100 gig. I don't know if Wallhost has the capability to automate downloads like put.io does...

Nope when you call in its part of the application test to verify you are person you say you are and you need to pass this to proceed to application itself.

If you fail it then system doesnt allow application process to continue. They advised this affected a number of people and they will try and unlock those who escalated this.
Latest response after numerous requests for update:

"Hi xx, we apologize for the inconvenience caused. No reason is provided for the decline of your application. ^WL"

Will cancel ISP portion of Telkom. Use my Vox Fatpipe and basically rent only lines from Telkom until fibre or viable cost effective alternate options present themselves.

@Telkom totally sucks

Has anyone had a look at their contract? Does the contract allow room for price increases or is R599 firm throughout the 24 months?

Is it true if you buy the router and antenna yourself they won't put you on a 24 month contract? The router is just over R2000 and the antenna seems to be R2000 as well.

I doubt they would be able to without being unfair,

CPA regulation 44(3)(h) - a term is presumed unfair if it has the purpose or effect of, allowing the supplier to increase the price agreed with the consumer when the agreement was concluded without giving the consumer the right to terminate the agreement ...

You have to love Telkom....

I applied online almost 2 weeks ago, heard nothing since

Got a call this week from them trying to sell me a 100gb capped LTE package,
I told them I want the uncapped one and was told no such product exists!!!

Had to explain to the rep where on their website it is located, but then their "system was slow"
so he couldn't check

Currently its a race between the fixed line dept and LTE uncapped to see who can supply first...

So, an update..

I got the modem and antenna on the 26th (@16:00). Was not active so I gave it the 24 hours. I get home the next evening, still not active. I call, spend an hour waiting, eventually get through, get told there is nothing they can do as the guys have gone home but that they will send through a mail for manual activation, and that it should be active sometime during the next day. Im working from home so I constantly check. Nothing. I phone through again during the day. Each time on hold for almost an hour before getting through or cut off. I find out that the original request was lost so they send through a request again and get told that it should be active by the morning (Saturday). Saturday morning, nothing. I phone through and sit on the phone. I get through and they say Monday. I say no way, they put me on hold, come back and say 3 hours. Everyone at home says that they said that because by now the 3 ladies in the call center handling the whole countries issues know of me after 8 hour long phone calls. I check again 4 hours later, still nothing. I call back and half an hour later, same lady. She thought that the guys might come in but haven't. I told her to go home because all of them are just wasting their time and mine if they cannot do anything. I mean, why are they even there. I lose it. Not at her but the system. Why does it take that long for the backroom techies to enter an IMEI and ICCID number into the system to activate. Apparently that is a tough job and so they keep forgetting or just don't do it. So now I have to wait for Monday morning and hope that they actually do it because maybe they will forget again or the request will get lost. So 5 days later (almost) and almost 10 - 11 hours of call holding, with 5 minutes of actual conversation... still no Telkom LTE uncapped.. maybe one day.

Just hoping that my 7 day mind change period starts only once it has been activated and not already.... and that I haven't been billed yet...

sigh... what can I do hey. Not worth losing hours of my life over but it still stinks. Useless I tell you...

Is 10213 charged from a cell phone?

Reports on this thread of holding for 40 mins only to be disconnected

Unfortunately I am also waiting for them to install my land line
