To me if feels like contention issues because the ping also jumps around 8 pm. The rest of the time it flies.

I'm in florida jhb.

Geez man, I wonder if I am making a good decision to move from Bitco to Telkom. This not good to hear some people are experiencing a massive drop in performance?

BTW, still no waybill number or delivery? Maybe a blessing in disguise?

That is like saying because a handful of people are experiencing problems with a BMW for example you are not going to buy one despite it being the best value for money vs performance....

I wonder what percentage of those having problems are connected to Telkom LTE towers not part of the current uncapped LTE rollout. Telkom wants users to connect to towers wth sufficient backhaul for obvious reasons.

Give them a call otherwise you will wait forever. Be aware it will take time 40 - 70 minutes for them to answer the call. They don't have stock on the routers currently so will take up to 10 days from today before delivery.

Dial 10213 then option 2 then 3 then 1. Otherwise you will be transferred around with 40 minutes wait between transfers. Give them your online ticket number, they will ask all your details again like you are a new customer even if you are an existing one. Their systems does not talk to each other so be patient while they jump between them and manually enter data. Ask for a reference number, they don't give if you don't ask.

Telkom just never ceases to amaze me (and not in a good way). So after waiting 2 weeks, the guy from telkom showed up, did some tests and told my wife :"Yes there is a much stronger signal available, I am not setup correctly". And that's that! He informed her he'll log it now and it will take 9 working days for them to access and if approved, send someone out. Approve what??!! Why not just tell me where this fabled signal strength resides and I'll point the antenna myself

Thanks! Will see if I can get a telkom line to use...

Do it yourself. Much less effort.

I tried, I just cannot get out of the 30mbps bracket. But according to the "expert" there is a much stronger signal. But if they tell me, they will have to kill me

Application successful. Now the wait for delivery for me. I'm not too worried...even if I get 10meg, it's still a huge step up from 2meg!

Just walked got home. Insert SIM and was surprised to see green light. Did first my speed test without even checking anything, using small aerial, in my lounge..
