and thats me just aiming at where i think the tower is, hanging on the window :)

@Snyper564 How did you move to the uncapped promotion?Did you cancel your 50GB +50GB ? Im also considering moving to the uncapped. Do you think its worth moving?

How much are the antenna's?

See PM with regards to the cancellation. Its def worth moving you can kill the cap so quickly if you are not careful. They cost +- R1200 but free with the deal and that comes with installation.

Has anyone been able to use Netflix / Hulu with a DNS address on this new Huawei B315 Telkom is giving with the package?
If you don't set a DNS in the devices it takes the router's ip as the dns and if you do specify a dns on any of the devices netflix/hulu won't play.

There is no place to specify your own DNS address like with my adsl router that forces each device to use that specific DNS.

So at this point the uncapped package is useless to me and they might just as well take it back.

A lot of us here use it for streaming NF Hulu etc. Your options are to setup a secondary router that'll handle your dhcp & DNS or use static IPs. I use the former

+1 on that one. Received my box with goodies last night. So currently in that "Bermuda triangle" waiting for activation and then the antenna installation...

ok, Telkom surprised me and activated me last night @ about 19h00 pm. Getting two bars with the antenna inside. Now the next question is whom to "irritate" for the antenna installation...?

Care to share a step by step? I am running my stuff, but with dns on the laptop and ps3, prefer the router option though.

I see I missed the previous page with the start of this problem on it :D Well I spent 3 hours last night trying to get it going, using an ASUS router that does the DHCP and DNS, but as soon as I integrate the B315 netflix won't work. I'll fiddle a bit more tonight and see if I can get it sorted or try the static IP route, not particularly fond of that route.

As for the Poynting antenna, I need to go play around with it today. I only get signal in one spot of the house with the paddle antenna's. Hope I'm lucky with the poynting as I'm right on the edge of coverage.

I called 10213 last night and they took down the sim barcode and router IMEI and told me that it would take between 2 and 24 hours to RICA.

Sorry for the n00b question here, I know very little about mobile networks and the RICA process. Does the router have to be powered on with the sim card inside for the process to take place?

I had my router on and sim in from when I got it. Each afternoon after work I switched off and on again, and on day 4 it restarted with connected blue.

Im also in this boat. I had everything set up to the router in the past which I really liked but this option really isn't that bad. I had found that you don't need to get a static IP though, you can obtain one automatically just leave the option "obtain IP etc" on, on the PCs and then just input your DNS settings, on your phone though you would need the static IP well atleast I do.

Guys you talk so much about Netflix and Hulu, I use both of these. But there is also ITV which is free, this is aimed

One of the best music services I have found is PANDORA. If you don't know what this is you need to check it out. It creates "radio stations" based on your favourite artists it has an ad every 4/5 songs like on the radio but its seriously amazing. Try it out!

Latest response after numerous requests for update:

"Hi xx, we apologize for the inconvenience caused. No reason is provided for the decline of your application. ^WL"

Will cancel ISP portion of Telkom. Use my Vox Fatpipe and basically rent only lines from Telkom until fibre or viable cost effective alternate options present themselves.

@Telkom totally sucks
Latest is that the system has been unblocked and they will call me tonight or tomorrow as busy upgrading system today. What is this upgrading system issue?

Update. Application passed. So now to wait.

I am currently connected via PREPAID TelkomMobile sim which is business as usual. ffs.

Mine finally arrived yesterday. Hoping to have it activated today. Will harass them if it's not working when I switch it on now.

Guys I just need to share my experience quickly. I wanted to follow up on the technician being sent for the antenna.
1. Logged onto chat -> person said enter number and we will call you back.
2. I said how long? They said immediately. Within 20 seconds I got a call. AMAZING!
3. Lady said please wait while I transfer you to the LTE department... i thought great here comes the wait....
4. 10 seconds later, LTE department answers. Listens to my query very friendly agent logs the call. Notifies me that I should get a call within 72 hours for the technician call out and was about to give me the ref number when it was sent via sms.

Today for the first time EVER im am beyond impressed with this service, I seriously hope this continues to be the norm.
