It takes 48 hours after delivery for Rica to be activated.



Also , please note , we are only the Courier and have no connection to the Rica process from Your provider. Please query this with Telkom if not activated by end of business day.
my 48 hours finished now going to start trow my toys around at them . if only we could rica in branch

I did the exact same thing on monday, was promised it will be active after 12 hours. No luck, called again, was asked to email ID, ICCID & IMEI, and they will activate immediately. Still no luck. I've had my kit for a week now, and still no green light.

Thats not on! Anything over 48 hours is not acceptable.

Telkom is coming to come install my antenna on Monday. Not like a need extra speed ,but would like to what I can get :p

Ordered 1st week of December. Went on holiday and forgot about it for a while. Been calling the call center every day since first week of January to follow up. Finally got my package yesterday.

Very disappointed in courier company, two boxes rolling around a bigger box doesn't seem logical in this day and age. Hoping router is not damaged. Also, the guy just pitched up without arranging a time and date as Telkom advised they would. Left an important meeting to collect but was doing back-flips all the way :)

Anyhow, got home last night and hooked everything up.. Red status LED on router.

Called call center for fun and actually got through within 5 minutes (!) and was advised that they were aawaiting RICA update on the unit. According to the help desk I was supposed to hand over documents to courier for this purpose, nothing was exchanged except for a greeting and signature. I see another long fight coming :(

Just read the RICA woes of fellow forumites, here's hoping it goes quicker for me

Seems like their system has been offline for like 3 days , so presume a massive backlog on the RICA process ....

I asked the question , how does the 7 day cool off work if you don't have service yet to check. Was told the 7 days start at time of package delivery :0 shocking ......

This is a great package and all , but if this is the kind of service to expect I'd rather stay in the Dark Ages of 2mbps .....

*edit* not to sound dof but if the router shows status of "No Service" that means the SIM is not active yet correct ?

That is correct, when you restart it, it will go from red to turquoise.

Try the chat and tell them you want to do the manual RICA. Then click call back enter you number. The ironic thing is every time I pushed that call back button its as if they are forced to make the call get it within 30 seconds then you have someone to "talk" to :) Hang in there its worth it took 38hours for mine to go live. Also make sure couriers did scan the docs, mine didn't till I called, you can check this on the system by entering your tracking number and make sure there is a line "POD/proof of delivery"

Yup , just got the confirmation that their internal systems are down , anybody else that can confirm ?

Courier scanned docs on Tuesday. Requested manual activation Told me 12 hours.
Called back Wednesday. Another manual activation. Told me 12 hours
Called back today. Another manual activation. Told me 12 hours.
Luckily, today actually worked. I got activated around 8 hours.

The antenna technicians came but we weren't able to affix it because the best reception is on my neighbour's roof. They told me the vertical antenna isn't included in the deal. I thought it was? They said only the rectangle antenna (is it called a paddle antenna?) is included. So they agreed they would come back with a short pole which allows me to put the antenna higher and keep it on my side of the sectional. At the moment, with the router only, I'm getting 15-20 Mbps with a measly upload of 0.20 Mbps.

There are 4 people in my complex with this deal. It's popular hey?

just had another hour session on 10213 atleast i have the person name i chated to yesterday . he atleast confirm stuff with his supervisor asked him about cooling off period 7 days from sim card activation asked for an email stating that he gladly send it to me . now to wait longer for rica 52 hours now since received

I used chat and within 72 hours had an appointment. Could have scheduled two days ago but im getting it on the 7th of march

I received the call 2 days after my sim was active ,but I missed the call . They called 2 weeks later ,they coming to do mine on Monday now.

Hi everyone
Has anyone noticed the lack of functions on the Huawei E5186s?
The firmware is extremely basic with minimal functions.
I was wondering if there was a alternative firmware?
How can i monitor per device bandwidth usage?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Text of pod at 9:23 but POD uploaded 17:09 so guess have to wait until this afternoon.
Now on track it it says they only texted me on 23 at 16pm and received pod 00:06 last night.

What a load of ...

So now they will be within their timelines
