That's right on the limit of the range of a base station at the frequency Telkom is using for this service.

I got a call from the CourierIT in Durban in response to my email querying the scanning of documents. He explained that all they send to Telkom is the waybill, which already has my ID and address on it. They take a copy of your ID and proof of address for their records and don't scan those specific documents through to Telkom.
Now he seemed very sure of what he was saying, even after I double checked it! So my documents got scanned on Wednesday morning and I still have no activation...

I showed them in the brochure and on their website via my phone. They could not find it on their system.

That's cause it's not on their system!
FINALLY got my SIM activated after some pleading and blood and sweat , speeds a bit disappointing (only with paddles no external , bst was 16Mbps/1.5Mbps which is still waaaay better than my ****ty little 2Mbps ADSL) but that's at work will see what I get tonight at home....... now to wait for the Telkom tech to arrive ....

They should know that. Not spend nearly an hour looking for it. And this was 3 people!
You will love it..... I commenced and completed a 2.5 GB torrent this morning in the time my ADSL would have d/loaded only 250MB. That's with only the flappy antennas.

Sure, I get what you're saying, but this deal is online only. I know Telkom is pathetic at marketing and telling us this, but it is what it is.
I can't even count the number of times on this thread I've told people not to go into the store.
