Does anyone have this modem? Just ordered Adsl today and already have a wireless router so there is no need to one from Telkom.
Are there any speed deference’s using this modem rather than the wireless router?

Oh and does it work on Vista?

If you don't need a wireless router rather just get a normal wired router and use that, much better than a USB modem.

Ok thanks I’m not keen on forking out R900 for a wifi modem.

Where can buy these modems? Any pc shop? Are there certain thing I have to look for in the modem?

Best get one which is ADSL2+ complaint. Though with the rate of change in SA you might only need that in 10 years if you are lucky.

From my expereience with iBurst, it always seemed the ethernet was able to offer that bit more speed. Granted I never tested it long enough to get any results that would be branded statistically significant. I also believe that in general the ethernet port was specifically made for internet/networking and as such is better able to issues related to that.

I suspect I wouldn't change even if evidence to the contrary was presented. But ageing I think tends to do that to you.

That’s exactly why I asked. With iBurst you could never get the stability nor the speed if connected via usb. But then again it is iBurst we talking about, don’t know if this is the same for Adsl?
