I have not received any messages for a couple of days, so I downloaded another email client and yes, that one's setup told me straight away telkomsa pop3 server could not be found.

imap worked fine though.

This problem is now in addition to my ADSL / landline which has been dead for 3 days now as well with no sign of them trying to fix anything. I am currently using Telkom provided emergency sim and other sim card's for connection to the internet (wirelessly) - expensive and slow though.

Location is Umkomaas, KZN

Does anyone else use pop3 with telkomsa and its still working?

I discovered a peculiar reason for my problem - it occurs only when I try to access Telkom domains from our telkom mobile sim in a hauwei portable lte router - no mails can be accessed and no telkom.co.za or telkomsa.co.za domains can be reached via the browser as well. The system gives no error messages - just timeouts or what seems to be ignoring any problems and not doing anything.

If I swop my internet link and tether from my cell-c phone, presto, my mails works and I have no problem accessing Tekom webistes.

I have not fiddled with any router settings whatsoever - just used the router out of the box.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Move your email hosting to a proper provider :)

It would still not solve the internet access problem to Telkom - I use that to lodge ADSL line service complaints. :)

Nope - but at least you would be getting all your emails :)
