I want to purchase an additional 3 gbytes just for this month but my own ISP mweb as can be seen from below is so far in the dark ages that even if they were the cheapest I would not be interested. Anybody selling temporary logons in the ISP arena?
Here is my letter to MWEB:
I have been a subscriber to Mweb now for a few years, but I still get very annoyed by your way of doing things. My god you are supposed to be in the forefront of the modern day computer revolution, not back in the dark ages! Take the following example:
This month I have a need for an additional 3 gbytes on my ADSL connection. This is a temporary need and thus I would have liked to buy an additional 3 gbytes and you debit my account(OF WHICH YOU HAVE ALL THE DETAILS) with an extra amount on the first of next month. Never mind that as a progressive company you should have this option available on-line with my adsl usage, but after I have phoned and spoken to a sweet operator(Gretchen) she suggested that she will email me the forms to fill in and that I have to FAX(really progressive) an upgrade request to you with a copy of my ID. Never mind the fact that I have been dealing with you for 3 years or more and that you should have all the information readily available( I mean you do run a computer system??) Then I have to fill in another form to downgrade my service again because after all , I only need this facility for this month. Imagine what all the time costs on my side and on your side are for people to process faxed forms!
It would be far too easy for a progressive firm like yours to have me make the request on-line,get my account deducted(or even supply credit card info as for kalahari) and get my additional 3 gbytes for this month.
Before you throw this letter into a bin, because with your progressive company I am sure it gets PRINTED out, please think about the logic of what I have suggested because it could improve your business.
