I agree it's terrible. And it's all over Cape Town ever since the lockdown. I live close to a small tent city and it's just getting worse and worse. They make a huge racket they don't follow curfew. it's hookers and drug addicts and dealers. It's Eventually it's going to be a marconi beam type camp. The numbers just double every week, sometimes the cops kick them out. Then they're back in a few days later.

They're getting prime real estate for free. The do gooders supply them with expensive tents and nice meals 3 times a day. If you're going to do that, take them live on or in front of or on your property!?
It's going to be terrible for tourism. Really disgusting situation so unfair for people who've bought or rent properties close to these degenerate hubs. This shouldn't be allowed.
If they fail to live up to societies expectations, they drag everyone around them to their level.

Simple really

On a bin day in the South Peninsula I was driving around monitoring the vagrants as part of the NHW. When I saw a do gooder woman supply one with money I went to speak to her. I informed her that she was attracting the vagrants to the area and it was a matter of time before she was attacked. I told her about how they monitor the houses for burglars and let them know which are empty during the day.

She expressed her guilt for having a home by saying she felt sorry for them. When I asked why she doesn't invite them to live on her property rather she had no answer.

It's called virtue signalling.

VIRTUE SIGNALLING - The feeling that bleeding heart liberals get when they give handouts to vagrants.

It seems that the DA ward councillor didnt get the memo.

100%. I see it among the wives of some of the HNWI I know. To them helping a poor person is like having a puppy they can play dress-up with. It is disgusting.
Then on top of that they are like vegans, they tell EVERYONE, even those that don't want to listen, how wonderful and great they are.

These well off virtue signalling city dwelling women also buy properties in Karoo towns. They then get a gardener to look after the property at well above the going pay rate. Now they virtue signal by buying the gardener a house in the town. The gardener then moves himself and his huge extended family in and has drunken noisy parties with fighting and swearing on weekends in areas that were formerly quiet. Naturally, virtue signalling do goody madam is not there to witness the hell that the neighbours now have to put up with, but hey, it makes her feel so good that she has helped someone.

Apologies CD, was a bit busy today.

Do you live on a farm in the middle of nowhere, in the northern suburbs close to the airport, or in the south peninsula?

I moved out of the city over a decade ago. I still have property in the city with family in my properties. I visit occasionally. If I need to fly the northern suburbs property is closest to the airport.

Thanks, was wondering. I live in London but own property in Cape Town's southern suburbs that my ex wife lives in and a flat in Stellenbosch for my kids who are at uni there.

All good.

No case opened yet over Sea Point ’hit list’ say provincial police

“We have in our possession an email that has been sent which talks about a list of residents who are described by these individuals as everything from radical feminists and socialists and saying to the councillor that these are undesirable people in Sea Point and that they are creating tensions and that they must be dealt with.
“We think that is a very serious issue and those people have approached the ANC and other political parties but they are scared to come forward,” said Dugmore.
An excerpt from the emailed list, alleged to have been sent by Hersov, read: “And please would you ditch any more kowtowing to the nasty leftists, especially the following ratbags…”.
The list then details a number of people who are described as “undeniably nasty”, “low grade leftist punk”, and “weasel”.
By deadline, Hersov’s attorney would not confirm whether the email was indeed penned by his client.

Nothing illegal in that email. It's opinions of people and he's entitled to them. Whoever exposed the email is guilty of an offence.

Shanties are homes. Those in Sea Point are homeless by choice.
Ah yes
The ones in shanties and TENTS in the video are also there by choice.
Just as a shanties are home to some, so are tents to others - until they start gathering building material for shanties
Homeless by choice. Of course.

This is the contravecial pamphlet by Hersov which has caused all the hullabaloo, and was put in all the post boxes in the ward.

I have to say I agree with a lot of the sentiment.
The area is turning into a slum and nobody from any sphere if government wants to grasp the nettle.
What about the rights of the rate-payers to a safe and clean environment?
They have every right to be pi$$ed off with the status quo.
