Wait ... so are the cars then all imports and how many are there locally, clearly there has to be quite a few for someone to do this?
I shudder at the thought of what you'd pay on SA bokke to get one of those things in.

Why wait to see.... you've already done the math, 7.68 units per hour.
Yeah but I wanna see it drop on the meter
It'll be like a lekker fast countdown timer
7.68 x R2,72 = R20,89 per hour (Yes ESKOM naai's me on my tarriff)

A Model 3 standard range uses 14.9 kWh/100 km, so the 7.68 kWh on which you spent R20.89 would provide 51.54 km of range (ignoring conversion losses). A petrol car would need to sip 2.23l/100 km to match that value for money. (14.9*2.72)/18.15

Even if one subtracts the tax from the petrol (roads still need to be maintained, even if we all drive electric cars), the petrol car would need to go at 3.41l/100 km. (14.9*2.72)/(18.15-6.26)

Oh cool, I get about 2.23l/100km as it is on my gay Honda NC bike, thanks

Saw a guy on YouTube who's got 2 Tesla car's and 2x Tesla power walls and a bunch of solar panels.
His electricity bill is around $30 per month and that includes having his 2 cars charged all the time.

Of course, upfront costs are quite a lot, but I suppose it's a more long term thing.

the Tesla Wall Connector is compatible with several electric vehicles currently sold in South Africa.
And they are? And don't those cars come with their own chargers? Why would something like this be sold in South Africa when there is only 1 Tesla car here AFAIK?

Unless infrastructure is developed around charging your car when you're out to the shops or elsewhere, it will never take off at the pace it can.

We need to get away from the thought of, primarily, charging your electric car at home.
