What do I need to know to get this job?
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering OR any related discipline or relevant demonstrated industry experience, e.g., ISEB Certification
• Experience: 5 years Testing Analyst experience
• Minimum 5 years in any areas of the SDLC, with a strong focus on automation testing for a minimum of 1 year.
• Experience of Mobile, HTML 5, Canvass testing will be advantageous.
• Participate in scrum team sessions, including daily stand-ups.
• Pro-actively drive continuous improvement in scrum team.
• Proficient in development environment as well as competence in MS Office Suite, Lync, and Git.
• Work Style: Foresight, analysis and logic, systematic and orderly planning, attention to detail.
• Experience: Relevant knowledge in different development and database tools, techniques and environments in order to develop and deliver quality applications and documentation.
• Additional Skills: Web development skills and experience in high volume transactional systems.
What will I do every day?
The primary role of the position focus on test planning, execution and reporting on software developed
Automation of regression test cases will also be your focus, together with Load, Performance and Stress testing
You will be responsible for developing test case procedures and maintaining test documentation.
Apply agreed company testing techniques. Test software / system within timeline
Assist with the preparation for other phases of testing, for example user acceptance testing
Ensure issues are escalated timeously and appropriately resolved
Provide product quality Information
Generate test case matrixes
You will be required to work as part of a team and will be jointly responsible for assisting with test activities where required
In addition you will develop and maintain the test plan and test schedules
Work closely with the Software Development Team and third parties
Assist team in being responsible for all output delivered by the testing team
Implementation of test methodology and processes
Record problems and issues on the defect-tracking tool, such as OnTime
Complete the objectives of each assignment within the agreed timeframe
Participate in project planning with team members to contribute time estimates on software testing
Use structured techniques to solve fundamental problems within one's own work
Works under the general guidance of Team Leads within the team, with occasional consultation and collaboration
Provide estimates for test effort required for sprint work / user stories
Log, prioritize and resolve defects using defect tracking tool
Communicate defects to rest of team
Define root cause analysis and preventative actions for production defects
Provide test progress transparency to rest of team
Environments:
Demonstrate thorough understanding of testing issues within a complex project and organization.
Demonstrate experience and understanding of testing types, including Functional, Stress and Load testing.
Understanding of the testing challenges presented when applications are tested in isolation or in conjunction with interfacing applications.
Experience of working in a Client Server and Database environments.
Understanding of the testing challenges presented when applications are tested in isolation or in conjunction with interfacing applications.
Demonstrate ability to quickly become conversant with new technical concepts and technologies.
Demonstrate experience and understanding of testing types, including Regression, Functional, Stress and Load testing.
Demonstrate high-level knowledge of software development methodologies.
Understanding of scripting languages; PHP, C, XML, HTML and Python.
Ability to think creatively and be able to think of a multitude of ways to exercise a system or application to ensure that it works in all circumstances.
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
