And the person that told me "Go with Firstrand bank" can go die

Haha! To be honest, I am just trying to go for the big ones in each industry and let the average work it out. Not the best strategy I know, but it returning me some results..

:crying:

I'm hugging my 100 grand trying to decide what to try next :D

The longer you hug it, the less it'll be worth, remember that over the long run the market will mostly go up. So even if you blow it now, 2 months from now it'll be a different picture.

Now some penny share hero has taken a huge lead... If there wasn't a minimum fee in real life I'd buy one of the shares he bought and sell it at 1c :)

Bumping my question to the new page: does anyone know of a decent, free, trading simulator?

Next year I'll have two formats for the competition, one for investing and one for trading.

Oh noes! I'm bottom of the leaderboard because of my randomly chosen company Primeserv has gone down the drain.

That would be great! This is very educational, but personally I would find a trading simulator more so, as it would be a great incentive to actually look at what you buy rather than to just guess.

Whether it's investing or trading, you shouldn't be guessing... they're just over different terms. (IIRC you need to hold on to a stock for 5 years to avoid capital gains taxes)

Unrelated: Capitec is hurting me :(

Straight to the bottom after a few hours. I should get a reward for that. Not an easy thing to do :)

I've actually wondered. How easy would it be to try get to the bottom of the pile..? The traders sometimes try pick a loser so they can short it, and they often get it wrong...
