How little constitutes a penny share?

For the purposes of this competition, at the moment we don't allow shares under R1. There's stil a debate on how to handle shares which don't trade often, so for now we've also blocked shares which trade less than 16 times a day.

Hey Patrick - what about being able to join multiple groups? Something to look at in future :)

I thought about it for last year, but it changes a whole bunch of stuff in the back end, and I thought it wouldn't get used too often, so just coded for the common case. You can jump between the groups as often as you like though...

There's an issue today?

NPN NASPERS LTD -N- 10 103840 0 -100% R0.00 0%
DLT Delta Property Fund Ltd 200 1095 0 -100% R0.00 0%

It's reporting a 0.00 value for some shares with a 100% loss and 0% of portfolio

There was an issue with the JSE link, but all is well again. Except for the markets, they're going dooown!

Patrick, there isn't perhaps an app out for the challenge? Would be so much easier (for example with the means to set triggers).

I'm only just getting into Android development. I have a completely different app to do first but I'll look at it after that.

I previously bought CZA when it was at 118c and I still have it in my portfolio. It is now 82c, and because of this rule, I cant buy any more.

EDIT:
Nevermind, there's a hole in the system.
If you go to 'Buy Shares', select any other share, then just change the share code in the url to another share code.

Why not maybe do a stats section as well?

We have a group of friends and one boasts about him being the longest at #1 position, the other boasts about being the most stable shareholder etc Might be cool to check a few stats :)

What happens in real life if a share delists? Surely you don't lose the cash?

GIJ recently delisted and paid out the people that still held that awfull share at a slight premium to the market value at the time

Same thing should happen in the game then. I had JDGroup that delisted and I'm at -20% now

Thanks BTW

if JDGroup delisted (SHF bought them IIRC) they should credit you with the price SHF paid for the shares

How about if we just freeze the price at the last traded price and you can then sell the share at that price?

Very similar to what I suggested ; so yup, I'd be happy with that.

More real would automatically put it in my cash :)
