The deadliest US school massacre since Sandy Hook almost a decade ago was reportedly ended when a lone Border Patrol officer went into the Uvalde school without back-up and shot dead killer Salvador Ramos.

Fourteen children and one teacher have been killed in a shooting at a primary school in Texas, the state governor has said.

The attack happened at Robb Elementary School in the city of Uvalde.

Governor Greg Abbott said the shooter was an 18-year-old man who lived in the city and entered the school with a handgun.

So far news sources either claim 2 or 14 dead. That the shooter was killed or apprehended.
How difficult is it to source information properly?

I'd say it is safe to assume he did have a rifle judging by some of the grainy footage released. Odd that this can't be confirmed no matter if the shooter was apprehended or killed.

BREAKING Gunman named in Texas school shooting​

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has named the suspect as Salvador Ramos, an 18-year-old male.
According to Abbott, Ramos abandoned his vehicle and went into the school armed with a pistol and possibly a rifle.
"He shot and killed horrifically, incomprehensibly, 14 students and killed a teacher," Abbott said.
Ramos is dead - it's thought he was killed by police who were sent to the scene.

Even in violent, lawless SA we don't have anything on a scale like this on a regular basis. Gang/family/partner shootings yes, but random mass public massacres.... No.
