quite the scam they got going on, I must say.
 
Will they let someone audit them on those numbers ? I think we all know the answer to that one.
 
That works out to around R2.7m a day.

Did they not say they were collecting much more than this?

Also, if there is 2.5 million cars in Gauteng [not sure about the figures] and around 1.5m use the toll ways then it seems like very few are paying as they are only collecting around R1.80 per car per day.

Sure my figures are way out but the R2.7m a day being collected seems pretty low.

So the R250mil represents less than one third of what they were hoping to get.

What a waste of money, that money could have been spend in businesses (shopping etc) .... now it's just going to government...

You sound confident? Know something we don't? I wish it gone but from what I've read lately with the DA case dropped etc. things are not looking up in this regard.
 
They haven't as yet collected a cent from me but having received a bill of R3700 yesterday makes me wonder how long i can hold out before caving in.

Did you legally dispute your bill through the automated process OUTA had set up?
 
A quick calculation R250.8m collected / R953m = 26% people have paid. It is not an accurate reflection, but my suspicion is that the R250m is mostly etag users.

On the otherside. Imagine your business sends out invoices and only 26% of your clients pay. It isn't good business.

Does the R250m include VAT? If so then the picture is even worse as that VAT must go to SARS. If so it means that SANRAL could only collect around 23% of their revenue and that the bulk of it is now on 90 and 60 days already.
