The “real” value of the rand vs the dollar

The latest update to the Big Mac Index shows that South Africa's currency remains one of the most undervalued in the world.

We know the currency is undervalued...

But not to the point that the Big Mac Index suggests.

First it was the PW factor and now it is the JZ factor.

Unfortunately the purchasing power adjusts due to imported inflation so the currency can never fully go back.
