Maybe we just useless......

Cricket is a mental game. Only a handful of players transcend the pressure of big match situations. South Africa, New Zealand, and England have never had players that can break through and dominate tournaments. India have had them from time to time. Australia and Pakistan have them all the time.

Who's the one team that punches above their weight in tournaments? Who's the one team that can win a tournament while ranked 8th in ODIs?

Pakistan are unique. They don't internalise it when they perform like schit. It doesn't affect their mindset. The same players who choke one tournament can gel the next.

Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Imran Khan, Mohammed Amir, Fakhar Zaman, MS Dhoni.

Ian Botham, Eoin Morgan, Quinton de Kock, Jacques Kallis, Brandon McCullum, Virat Kohli.

Which group is which?

Mentally Pakistan are inconsistent. They are like the French rugby team. Talented team, but you never know which team will turn up. At least with the Aussies and Indians, you expect them to always be up there challenging. If they fail, you know that they had a bad tournament, but it won't always be like that

But my point is a Pakistani player can show up to a tournament final and play as if he's playing club cricket after work.

Unlike self deluded Rabada, those Ozzie bowlers opt out of this year's IPL in favour of preparing for the world cup. What ****ing champs.

Don't know if it's common knowledge, I only found out about it today, but a lot of countries like Australia paid their players to skip the IPL this year.

The Indians played the entire ipl and Bumra looks on fire? I think Radaba also left the ipl earlier to rest. No issue with Faf but if you expect players to skip the ipl surely you should lead by example.

It might have had something to do with injury fears, but I stand to be corrected. There's some people on this thread with way better insights into the game than myself.

India / Australia / England play more games than others and appear to be less injury prone. Our guys play less games, want more rest and are more injury prone. I think our training regime (or lack thereof) might be an issue.
