I don't see why they shouldn't. If they get told to bowl 5/5 or 6/4, then they need to adjust their mindset accordingly. One bad over is not 'get out of jail free' card. Your team composition works for me.

The only worry is that JP has only bowled 3 overs in 2 matches. And vs BAN, the match in which we lost Ngidi, he only bowled one. I would have expected him to step up to the plate. But it only confirms my suspicion that he is not able to bowl as he should.

Another option could be to drop a bat and get Shamsi in there. Bowl him in tandem with Tahir, attack with them. Ngidi and Steyn were our plan A to take early wickets and keep runs down in the 1st 10 overs.
That plan allowed us to follow them up with Rabada and Tahir. Which was great from a pressure point of view.

We need to look passed that now and get creative. Rabada/Hendricks followed by Morris/pretorius is not going to work. But, some mystery might well do the trick.

13:45 Local Time, 12:45 GMT, 18:15 IST: It is still raining and the forecast looks bad for the next 45 minutes.

Meh, hope Sri Lanka don't get out of this one. I would think though that given their precarious state, any revised target should favour the Afghans...

While we wait:

Nikhil N: "What is the highest number of extras in a World Cup match" and "was there any match with extras more than the score of the batsmen""

The record for extras in an ODI was done twice by Pakistan with 59 conceded v Australia at Brisbane in 1989 and again in the 1999 World Cup v Scotland.

As for extras as high score in an ODI innings, it has happened on 39 occasions. The highest extras and team total were both done by New Zealand v Pakistan at Old Trafford in 1999 World Cup - 47 in a total of 241 for 7 - while the most recent instance happened in 2013 when West Indies batsmen could not top 17 extras in a score of 70 against Australia at Perth.

Ok. Time for crying over spilt milk is over.

Team for India!

Amla
QDK
Aiden
Faf
Rassie
JP
Miller
Andile
Rabada
Hendricks
Tahir

JP and Aiden MUST give us 10 overs. And we have a shorter tail.
I would rather add Pretorius/Morris in place of Hendricks.

They're no worse with the ball and much better with the bat. At least this way we bat down to 9, and KG can occasionally chip in...

It is still raining and the forecast looks bad for the next 45 minutes. So, it seems we are in for a long delay. The good news is that we haven't lost any overs so far but we will start losing them after 30 minutes.

If hendricks is replacing steyn then he must do steyns job.

That line up has enough batting. The bowling needs bite

I hate the DWL system... Crock of shyte.

You can't statistically determine what another team would have scored if all was equal. Simple, team 1 got X in Y overs. Team 2 needs to get X+1 in Y overs. I understand that T2 would probably have a different strategy given the conditions and score that needs to be attained. But that's life...
