Amla and Duminy are their on rep and cause faf and the management wanted experience. Has nothing to do with quotas. Morris and Miller are performing just as poorly... Are they also their cause of quotas??

If you only show up to kick them when they are down you are no true supporter...

A Supporter praises their team when they are on top and criticizes them when they are under performing but still shows the support. You guys only show up to kick them when they are down.
OK, then I'm not a true supporter, whatever makes you sleep better at night.

Ps, where did I kick them when they were down? After their performance in this wc they actually deserve whatever they get.

I think most people have become disillusioned with SA cricket because of the way its been run by CSA. I used to watch loads of cricket and be fairly active on these threads here but over the last couple years i have watched almost nothing. The cricket world cup has piqued my interest but now im just reminded why i stopped watching. Its got nothing to do with being a good or bad supporter im just fed up with politicians or desk jockeys messing with the sport. No hard feelings against the players, the current situation isnt really their fault. I dont think you should be so quick to judge because im sure a few people feel the same.

+1 - I'll follow a good test series and the World Cup but having one of the best players of a generation watch the World Cup on TV says all you need to say about the way the game is run in this country.

Another 30 and out for Miller. Clearly a quota player who needs to be replaced by a white guy...

AB got greedy IMO. CSA probably couldn't afford to pay what he was demanding.

He said his retirement was to spend more time with a young family, yet he's jetting around the world playing in all these T20 leagues.

For all his ability, fck him. I'd rather have people playing who are proud to represent their country...

Hard to know what caused it, the way I heard he didn't like the way the team was being run. The greed thing is plausible but then so is the idea that CSA is run by a bunch of morons....

Do you mean AB? Im not even that mad about him, hes 35 and given a lot to the country already. The problem is more the grass roots. Not enough incentive to play cricket in South Africa, many good players go overseas and play county etc. Its due to a number of reasons but quotas and politics at youth level play a massive role.

The fact that he contradicted his own statement makes me believe it's the case.

Playing a new T20 league every other month - how exactly is he spending more time with his family by doing this?

Also, how many tournaments has he actually collected any silverware - zero.

Yeah AB, he has given a lot but given our lack of depth he could still have contributed a lot... but yeah agree.

Press statements about retirement from internationals are mostly BS anyway, do you really think he is going to come out and say that SA cricket is being run by a bunch of idiots?

Sure so now that quotas was enforced up until the world cup, you are kind of forced to go with the quota players. If you drop them before the world cup then the entire black population will riot. The guavament played this exactly like they wanted to and the sheeple ate it up and wants seconds. They could not drop the players because the officials will look like racists after the guavament forced them in there.

This was done this way to prevent the embarrassment of the last world cup where they forced a player of colour into the team although Abbot was on fire.

No wonder we are where we are it looks like the general population are naive as ****.

All the white players left after that for England and now a entire generation of great players are gone, South Africa are left with the second best players that what we could actually field 2 years ago.
