The 5 questions to ask before buying a new TV

With Black Friday coming up, many South Africans may be interested in purchasing a new TV.

Making this purchase is not as simple as it seems, however, as there is a variety of factors to consider and compare, from refresh rates and contrast ratios to panel type and connectivity.

First and most important question to ask...

Is it a Nu-World brand?

If yes, any subsequent questions about features and functionality are irrelevant.

No no no, these are the five questions to arse:

  1. Does it come with gold-plated HDMI cables?
  2. Does it have a coaxial connection for my aerial?
  3. Can I watch YouTube on it?
  4. Where do I put the sim card?
  5. No man I forgot my TV licence at home; er tell me did you have lunch yet?

Not a badly written article, for a change. Left out any Ethernet connectivity observation/comment though.
Maybe next time, when they pay (bribe) you a bit more ?

The question is whether you need a new TV set at all...

I would've assumed that to about 99.9% of MyBB members, this would be common knowledge but hey, one never knows. Anyway, anybody is welcome to use the site and if a layman stumbles upon it accidentally but were a potentially in the market... Jackpot.

That's good to read. I've heard that it runs proper Android TV. I will look into this brand if I need a new TV in the future.
