I call it the clitoral hood. What do you call it?

The clitoris is the same as the male glans, during development in the womb we all started off as 'females', in men things just 'grew/developed' furher. Clitoris and glans is the same thing, clitoral hood and foreskin is the same thing. Type I FGM (removal of the clitoral hood) is not different to male circumcision.
The clitoral hood is the female equivalent of the male foreskin. You should have read the entire thread before making sarcastic remarks.

It's not the same thing, it is homologous which simply means they develop from the same embryonic tissue.
I suppose you think that ovaries and testicles are the same thing too, since they are homologous?

FGM has no health benefits, and it harms girls and women in many ways. It involves removing and damaging healthy and normal female genital tissue, and interferes with the natural functions of girls' and women's bodies.
Immediate complications can include severe pain, shock, haemorrhage (bleeding), tetanus or sepsis (bacterial infection), urine retention, open sores in the genital region and injury to nearby genital tissue.
Long-term consequences can include:
recurrent bladder and urinary tract infections;
cysts;
infertility;
an increased risk of childbirth complications and newborn deaths;
the need for later surgeries. For example, the FGM procedure that seals or narrows a vaginal opening (type 3 above) needs to be cut open later to allow for sexual intercourse and childbirth. Sometimes it is stitched again several times, including after childbirth, hence the woman goes through repeated opening and closing procedures, further increasing and repeated both immediate and long-term risks.
http://www.brothersforlife.org/medical-male-circumcision-mmc.htmlEvidence shows that the inner skin of the foreskin is more likely to absorb HIV than any other skin as it is more prone to small tears during sex.
Within the foreskin, there are cells called Langerhans and other receptor cells that attract the HI virus.
Men who are not circumcised are also more likely to get other STIs such as genital ulcers (esp. Chancroid and Balanitis) that increases the risk for HIV infection.
Benefits of Male Circumcision
When the foreskin has been completely removed under medical conditions, from the head of the penis:
It is easier to keep clean.
It eliminates bruising and tearing during sex, which makes sex more enjoyable for men and women.
Cells that attract HIV have been removed.
It reduces the risk of HIV infection but there is still a 40% chance that circumcised men can get HIV.
Lower risk of STIs and diseases.
It provides health benefits for sexual partners - Medical male circumcision (MMC) is good for a women's health too as it reduces her risk to cervical cancer by removing the human papilloma virus that is often carried in the foreskin.
Go check a dictionary then come back to this thread. under "H" for homologous.Go check a dictionary then come back to this thread. under "E" for equivalent.
joelus, why are you against letting the kid in question decide when he's of age?
The foreskin is the male prepuce and the clitoral hood is the female prepuce.
Quit your trolling joelus.

I'm not against it at all. I just don't think there's anything wrong with the parents deciding to when he is a baby - there are many benefits to having it done as a baby
Are you against the priest sucking on your baby's dick though? Because they sometimes do that after circumcision in some churches.
Sometimes the baby dies too, from contracting herpes from the priest.
But hey, if you wanna slice off a part of your son's penis so he can look like you...go ahead. lucky for you this barbaric ritual is not banned yet.
What little health benefits circumcision provides is redundant when basic hygiene and responsibility is observed. Put another way circumcision only benefits dirty irresponsible people.
Essentially advocating circumcision is promotion of poor hygiene and irresponsible behavior.
