Can someone explain how silver works and if it is worth it to get. They saying they will debit 1500 every month.
So the money just gets added to my account and I can remove?
**** i wish i just got a darn CC... Silver is a compulsory Debit every month regardless of whether amount is owed or not, but you free to withdraw the amount.. gold is debit only when owed .. i think
There is insurance. I saw it in the fee the lady me showed and made me sign next to it.
The money debited is essentially credit in your account to do as you please. Not a good idea quite stupid but oh well.
I got told they will debit 2500 from my "gold" card every month, regardless of whether I use it. It's still not activated for use because it's been the third time I went in and the excuse today is that the IT problem that arose the first time, is decidedly still not resolved (I'm not sure why they were able to give me a card on trip 2 and encode it with a PIN in the meantime, though).
Also not sure if they are going to slap on insurance because at no point during this exercise was I told that would have to be an option.
I haven't paid a cent in insurance in over 3 months of having the card. But then also my account has never been in the red. I think the insurance is calculated on monies owed. Can someone with a gold CC shed some light on this?

Also never had any money deducted from my cheque account.
makes senseCPI/customer protection insurance is only calculated on any outstanding balance owing to ab when the statement run cycle is done, ie 30day cycle.
If ur outstanding balance is R0 or less, u wont be charged an insurance fee.
If your outstanding balance is not settled and reflecting on ur account by due date, then u will b charged the interest fees
I discussed this very thing a few pages back.

It happened once. I've been careful to stay under my credit limit since.
