Why would someone go for this card when VM CC is free and the AB one is R69.00 PM? Same reason why I have not moved from VM to Capitec credit card (I bank with Capitec)....cause Capitec has a monthly fee, VM does not.
because you can't pay VM with easypay

I'm in the same boat. did you manage to resolve the issue? which entity should assist, the bank or call center?
Callcenter lady logged request with relevant department, who has no direct contact details. So don't really know yet.

AB head office say my card can only be unblocked if I am refunded first. In order to refund, they require proof of my deposits. What a joke.

AB says that card can get warmed if debit balance goes to +2000, regardless of credit limit. They queried this with their supervisor at call center and it was confirmed. Still sounds wrong to me.

So the question is, has anyone's account been blocked when the debit balance was lower than the credit limit?

This is almost 28k over my 10k limit. card not warmed.... But to be honest the first time it went over 10K it was warmed, never again though.
If that is all from checkers vouchers... Dude you are a beast!!

I'm at about -20k current balance and have been warmed 2 times. Still need to transfer a lot more. I plan to cash out and not accumulate in this account in future to avoid the problem possibly happening again.

Do cashiers at POS have big amounts like 5k available to withdraw at a time? Even asking for 1k at most Checkers is a nightmare.

I've found most shops have their own R3000 limit, although finding a cashier who has R3000 is normally a schlep.

That's true but it is a way to avoid it in the future. I did that last month and have been withdrawing the cash. But with abna I'll not do that again...
so how do you plan to get checkers or online spend on the NA?

In short I dont, I only use ABNA for qualifying spend... The rest I do as follows:

1. I easypay (FNB) 10k to ABCC at checkers
2. I easypay (FNB) 5K to ABCC via https://new.easypay.co.za
3. I use my ABCC as my everyday CC card... Nothing like swiping that gold card everywhere :)

In short whatever works easiest for you this is just the easiest for me :)
So when shopping at checkers or buying fuel, you use FNB cc to earn eb, but when swiping everywhere else you use the ABCC?

Pretty much! Spot on!
This is actually not a bad idea... Assuming the swipes on ABCC come to 5k, and assuming the FNB cc swipe limit is already reached, the lost eb in doing ABCC instead of FNB cc would only be 5k * 0.5% or 250 eB

If you 40k FNBCC to ABNA that is more than made up.... :) And all qualifying spend is maxed...
True

However after the horrible customer service I experienced with AB since taking out the ABCC, I wouldn't want to risk having to query fraudulent transactions on abcc, this has happened on both my fnb cc and my wife's FNB cc over the past few years.

Fraudulent transactions?
