Saks quoted Ms Hajaig as stating: "They [ie, the Jews] in fact control [America]. No matter which government comes in to power, whether Republican or Democratic, whether Barack Obama or George Bush. The control of America, just like the control of most Western countries, is in the hands of Jewish money and if Jewish money controls their country then you cannot expect anything else."

Saks reported that this remark by Ms Hajaig "was greeted with a particularly enthusiastic roar of appreciation by the audience". He noted that various other speakers at the rally also "made threatening statements against the local Jewish community".

It suggests too that the ANC's tribute to the late Helen Suzman, also ...Jewish, who died on New Year's Day, (see here) was just a little less than sincere.

Coming from a politician with senior responsibility for South Africa's relations with the world, Ms Hajaig's anti-Semitic remark is a defining moment in the history of the country, a moment when a shift in the tectonic plates of South Africa's social, political, cultural and intellectual life indicated that the old, old demon of racism is far from dead in the chancelleries of government.

So what if Jewish people run some big business and media corporations in America - is that a bad thing? The Jews have shown that a people who suffered masive indignity and huge persecution over centuries can overcome all odds and succeed. Perhaps instead of rallying masses with overtly anti-semitic messages the ANC politician and supporters in question can learn from this? Or is that simply too much to ask?

Hmmmm. So because There are large Jewish owned businesses and they make a lot of movies, they control the US Government and want to control the World.

There are just as many powerful Chinese, Japanese, Indian, German etc companies out there. I am sure that they too should be able to exert some pressure on the White House and other Governments?

JK8 hates Jews. He has made no bones about that in any thread involving Jews before. It's like arguing with any other racist- you won't change his mind and this will turn into another Israel vs Palestine debate. There is no point in trying to have a rational debate with JK8 on this subject - it's not worth it...
