Lol...My uncle thought I was taking the piss when I sent him these pictures (he is in the UK)....
It reminded me of many years ago one of my first crappy jobs was a security officer...
My rapid response vehicle...was a old Beetle with a yellow light on the top....
(The rapid rapid response car was a converted Mazda 323, of course its all back in the day when there was not 50 odd people a day being murdered here....)

The take from this election is clear - the days of 'we will vote for the ANC till the second coming' are gone.

Now that the brand has lost its shine, what do the ANC have left in their arsenal - empty promises are no longer accepted.
What they have also shown is that people might not vote for the ANC but they are still not convinced enough to vote for the other parties, the fact that they did not totally pull the trigger on the ANC says a lot.

Another problem is that the fight is all about ANC voters, no one seems to be able to convince the other eligible voters.

That's why I say the next government will be a coalition government.

If nothing improves, that's reason enough to boycott the election again.

The ANC for the first-time ever has dipped below 50% in an election.
What does this mean for Ramaphosa and his faction? Will we see the resurgence of the RET faction? Stayed tuned for further updates about the ANC in total crisis.
The ANC is gonna get ****ed in 2024, they can't repair 13 years of damage to their reputation nor everything they've wrecked within less than 3 years.

It doesn't really work that way. Yes, voter apathy is on the way up. But what @daveza clearly meant is that those former ANC voters that do vote are voting for other parties, such as ActionSA. The former ANC vote needs to go somewhere, hence the rise of new new and small parties.

It's difficult to tell to what extent eligible voters who were apathetic before decided to vote now. All we can rely on is the results themselves. To difficult to analyse the trends among those that didn't vote.

In all honesty, the ANC have done much for SA in certain areas... but it has pretty much always been marred by large scale corruption and incompetence at all levels as well as hollowing out of the state significantly over the last 10 years.

The old townships now look much more like proper suburbs as an example...
More like proper suburbs?
I mean I suppose in an African sense, hell they have turned Johannesburg and Durban CBDs to look like townships.
I mean there's a burnt out building on Margaret Mcandi drive that was like that on 2016 and 2020. Screenshot_20211105_171552_com.google.android.apps.maps.jpg

The ANC voter base still has a lot of fight and spirit left, enough to handle a lot more punishment. ANC is counting on it.

This is Africa and black people are long suffering, patient and resilient af. They can take a **** ton of punishment before they decide they've had enough and usually explode like a volcano when they have
We did see them let some steam off earlier this year...

I hope I am right, everyone has had a taste for blood, even the smaller parties, I would be surprised if they all went back to sleep after scaring the ANC like this.
NPA needs to get super active before next elections. Are aunties Cronje & Batohi still around ? Last I heard was in May when they were on the brink of something. That seems like imminent Cape secession talk to me now. If Guptas are extradited (even if not prosecuted till then), that would surely help.
