COMMENT | This conference closes just as it began, little drama and fairly predictable. Ramaphosa kept his address short and sweet. Delegates from the Eastern Cape and Limpopo sang in support of Ramaphosa's second term, a clear sign that a rebellion has been averted and Ramaphosa is the political front foot.

A clear sign? Mantashe cleaned the air yesterday, and what rebellion? It is their elections which will do the talking, not some closing remarks at a policy show.

I don't think the ANC will ever be that party. At some point the people who continue to vote ANC will need to let go and start supporting parties with leaders who have integrity and a desire to move the country in a better direction.
