ok so I got told this

Bluenova has a higher cycle life though meaning a longer lifespan. Hubble has greater than 6000 cycles at 50% depth of discharge. Bluenova has greater than 7,000 at 70% depth of discharge. This is good as generally the deeper you discharge the lower the cycle life.

Pylontech US3000C offers 6000 cycles at 90% DOD

Support for both is on the same WhatsApp group.

Some pics of the user interface of the sunsynk.

Have a look at the deye interface before deciding.
If you look carefully at the messages in the Whatsapp group, they have recently split the installer support groups into one for Sunsynk and another for Deye. There are specific message responses "combing" Deye installers into another group. This is a good move, the hardware may be the same, but the Operating System is completely different, it needs two separate support groups and I prefer it.

Both have the same hardware platform, both are good. I agree that the Sunsynk's interface is better (far better), but I am naturally biased because I own one in my home, so my opinion cannot count.

Pylontech US3000C offers 6000 cycles at 90% DOD
I've seen so many different specs for this battery...

4500 at 90% DOD - https://sinetechstore.co.za/shop/ba...h-us3000-3-5kwh-li-ion-battery-excl-brackets/
6000 at 80% DOD - See Above
This was for the old US3000, not to be confused with the US3000C
6000 at 95% DOD - https://www.vpsolar.com/download/catalog/Storage/Pylontech/US3000C-Pylontech-datasheet-EN.pdf
4500 at 95% DOD - https://solaradvice.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/US3000C-MANUAL.pdf

I really wonder which is actually correct.

Sunsync - Deye - Ohm

All three are the same
You can add Fusion, Ellies and Sol-Ark (an American label) to the list. The relationship between these companies seems to be highly secret, it's not openly discussed on public forums, but they appear to be the same hardware.

Wait until you read the full product warranty from Pylontech, for the US3000, US 3000B and US3000C, many restrictive conditions . And then there's the US2000(x) in the US range, and that's not all, there is the newer UP series, different warranty and conditions. That's only in the LV range, many more HV.

A discerning potential customer would certainly download them, read, understand and apply the resultant knowledge to their purchasing decision.

Ellies is not an OEM brand. They sell the sunsynk and added their branding to it.

They also sell the sunsynk battery which I’ve not seen sold elsewhere

You have opened a topic where there huge debate. The batteries mentioned have different chemistries, allowing different (safe) rates of charge and discharge. They also do not publish the exact same specifications, so some extrapolation is required. And then one has to consider whether the specifications are actually accurate, because it is not possible for a manufacturer to have actually tested 7000 cycles unless, at very best, they started over six years ago.

How does that differ from Deye, Fusion, Ohm and others? Are they OEM brands?

I am probably going for the Freedom WON eTower 5kWh x 2 to start with...

Good specs and well priced, also no need for a Cabinet as with the Pylontech ones.
That is a very good battery and basically comes with almost everything needed, No additional cable packs or anything. This was very good of them to do this.

Growatt is hit and miss from what I have heard, I would rather look at SunSynk and forget the LA batteries which I assume they quoted you on.

Yeah, the solar installer got a call from a client when he was at my place, both her growatt inverters burnt out that morning... avoid.
