Curse all my A++ rated appliances pulling no load :(
During the last load shedding round my batteries were full and load shedding started at 12:00.

I called my wife to switch on the 4kw geyser during load shedding just so that the pv is not wasted. Didn't help much as by 1pm the geyser was at 75° and switched off so a whole hour of pv went to waste.

Yeah I turned my geyser on

A whole whopping 30mins and geyser is heated.

Does anyone have settings for a sunsynk + 2 UP5000 batteries my friend's solar installer did not configure it correctly or even set it to use the batteries so his batteries have not cycled for 2/3 weeks. Does the warranty immediately get voided?

It should be similar to any other pylontech battery.

Post some pics of the battery settings and timer settings.

You should be able to pull through the settings from the BMS using the CAN protocol?

Edit.

The warranty wouldnt get void as I dont see it stipulated in warranty document. Not sure how to attach files here. If you need the warranty doc, you can PM me and I can send it to you via email or whatsapp

It depends if they want to enforce it or not, and then only on a warranty claim. But I'd get them cycling soonest in any case.

Then to ease your mind, the 5kW can do more than 5kW by blending grid with PV and/or battery, it's just during rolling blackouts that you would be limited to 5kW. I think it has 35A passthrough if memory serves me right.
You have an incredible memory, yes the 5.5K's specs state that it's limited to 35A. Interesting video here where Keith seems to suggest a little less than that, as a rule of thumb no more than 50% of the inverter capacity:

Forgot to pay my municipal account for 2 months and came home to electricity cut off for nearly R3.6k amount outstanding.

Let's see if I can make it through the night. Battery is still at 78% SOC.

Paid the account and asked them to reconnect me tomorrow.

Only change I did was to not let the geyser go on at 5am and switched off the underfloor heating in the en suite. Wife works from home so she can take her morning shower at 10am. If it doesn't work out send help as my wife might just put me out of my misery

What was really funny was when she told there's units on the prepaid meter where the tumble dryer is and asked if she can put it on for the kids school clothes.

I had too explain to her that it's still coming from the batteries and it's a private prepaid meter if we decide to rent out that section as a bachelor flat.

Congratulations on your first "sleep through" night!
It actually is.

I think it's the shorter nights that also makes a huge difference. I don't think I'll make a full night in the middle of winter even if the battery starts off at 100% by sunset.

You would if you dropped your usage for those periods, you don't need heaters or underfloor heating
