but you have that already with the trolley and genny? How much is your elec bill?
Touche I do, my electric bill is about R1350 a month. I just don't want to keep hooking up the generator and fuel isn't cheap.

You could most likely shave if not kill that bill with an entry level solar. My power ranged from 2.5-4.5K lol.

I think you should copy @RonSwanson's setup but instead get AM-2 battery instead of pylontech. He hasn't paid for elec this whole year I don't think. This is what you should aim for imho.
For now, you just need 1 battery to cover you for loadshedding.

Yup during load shedding our usage would be down to 300w to 600w, hell our daily average is 19units and that is with the maid on Fridays using the washing machine a ton. Normally we use 14units.

Genny is how many of us started, and I have kept mine, serves a very good purpose. Mine is setup to run on the Aux port of my 5K Sunsynk.
Just get a 5K Sunsynk, you know that you want to, and you will thank all of us later.

If your usage is during the day then try spec your PV bigger.

6 x 550W should be enough. 16.5kW per day theoretically.
Problem is that the sunsky + the hubble + 6 550w comes in at 66k alone then you need to factor in sundries and labour so it would be closer to 80 to 85k

Nope even during the day at most I'd hit 1.7kw an hour at most and it's on a Friday :)

If you have a generator and trolley forget the battery for now. Get a sunsynk and 5kw of solar and move your geyser onto the inverter with a timer and lower kw element. Then when the sun is up you have power and will save on eskom rates. For the odd loadshedding at night you can run the generator.

@RonSwanson speak to me :) I cannot remember your setup.
1x 5.5K Sunsynk
3x US3000B Pylontechs
16x 380W JA Solar panels
1x Grip 7.5kVA genny

If I were you, on a tight budget I'd get a 5.5K Sunsynk, one Hubble AM-2, maybe plan the layout for 3 eventually, and plan for 12-16 panels, but get at least 10-12 for now.

Generator is still run with extension leads :-(
