12x450 is a great deal. I was under pressure as the 4 recent power outages in Garsfontein this month alone pushed the wife over the edge (and destroyed many items)

In the new year will add another battery and more panels - can i add 400 / 450W and mix them with the 330s?
You can but it will be limited to the current of the 330W afaik.

I didn't give Steve a call.
I don't know what I want anymore :)
Solar is confusing, and that's exactly why you need to give him a call.
He will engineer something that will suit your budget and meet your objectives, whether it's Kodak, Sunsynk, Victron, Hubble, Freedom Won, Dyness, JA or Canadian Solar.

None of them are bad, but speak to Steve.

The Kodak is an off-grid though, not a hybrid, but they do have a hybrid model. Cheap as chips.

Oh, no I meant if it's in the same string, series connection adopts the characteristics of the weakest link. It's fine if it's a separate string.
ah ok cool - thanks for that - so will try ensure they put all the 330s on the same MPPT then when i upgrade will put those on the other MPPT

Pylontech being a "0.5C" battery can only power 1.75kW (for 2 hours (3.5kWh)) of that 5kW inverter. The Hubble AM-2 being a "1C" battery can power 5.5kW (for 1 hour (5.5kWh)).

That's a good price on the PylonTech's.

Hi,

I have a bluenova bn52v-100-5.2k bp battery

Power failed now and battery shows a alm red light, and is not working, not powering the inverter.
Switched it off and on via reset button

As it switches on it makes a ticking noise a couple of times and just shows the red alarm light

Any idea why the battery won't come on or what to try?

Did the battery fail directly after the power failure, or did it power stuff for a while? Could it have failed because of a fault condition (like overcurrent), or simply being flat (undercharge)?
Which inverter, and does it have battery comms? If so, what does the inverter say? How does the inverter indicate good battery comms?

From the manual:

So how is the red LED flashing? 3x or just on?

You could try starting it, shutting it down, restarting it and resetting the BMS:

If this does not work, disconnect it from the inverter and try again.

It failed instantly as the power went out

Before this only tested it with switching off the DB board and worked fine the

On a multiplus 1 victron

Does have comms, but inverter and cerbo is off due to no power

Last state on app showed battery at 94%

I tried the on/off and reset thanks, still does the same

Looks like it's gone into protection mode. If you did the BMS reset with cables off, and it still does the same, then it looks like a problem with the battery :(

Edit.

Tried it now. Without cables the run light flashes green. No soc lights comes on

As soon as I connect the inverter, it makes the clicking noise and alm red light stays on...

I am out of ideas, will have to wait for power to come on and connect to cerbo and hopefully battery comes on and can view errors / settings
