What happened to assuming that all circuits are live before working on it? In the old days the good old City Power electricians used the wet fingers test.
While I agree with you 100%, the question is if the current Eskom bunch who cannot even maintain their infrastructure properly will exactly follow protocol.

My understanding is that the Sunsynk inverters does this, not sure about other models?

I guess the question is, are you willing to take the risk
Risk I tested running 1kw into the grid it cost me 1kw to "test" it makes no sense to give eskom my power. So end of story.

If I had an old meter etc I would probably "risk" it

Ideally you should make sure that your inverter does have an anti-islanding feature (I'd hazard a guess that all grid tied and hybrid inverters do support this). That being said, if your inverter doesn't support this and the grid goes down, it would probably grenade itself when the grid goes out, as you'd be trying to power the whole street. This would happen long before any tech can get to the power lines anyway.

Inverter will blow up if it don't auto switch off if it detect mains missing.
Grid extremely low impedance.

First battery almost done. Then for the second one.

Just having issues with the Solarman app not updating. Logger and Inverter show online but “last updated” is at 20 minutes and no stats showing.

Give it a few hours.

Now showing all devices offline.
Only two lights on the dongle on.

This is the install to date.

One or two wires to still run inside the correct conduits but that will be done in January when we finish up a lot of other electrical fixes around the house.

Installer just left now. Big thanks to him for coming out on a Saturday to finish it up and also to Steve from Powerforum for his assistance.
