You can't set anything on this. Just monitor manually, get a volt meter.
I dont understand. They sold the inverter and the batteries together. I missed the fact that the battery is not supposed to be discharged below 50%(80% according to some resources online) but from the specification of the Inverter it will turn itself off after the battery voltage is below 10v.
This means the battery is getting damaged because of the inverter.
I was actually planning to buy new batteries but even if I do it's not going to last long because of this inverter.
So I have two questions:
1. Can i claim warranty on the battery? Its the royal battery from makro.
2. What's the easiest solution here investment wise ? 720watts for 2.5 hours is all I need. But something that can last for the next 5 years at least

So I went the Growatt 5000ES route and I have installed it myself... well partial. Got it mounted and the trunking is installed but now to find someone to connect it into my home db board is proving to be hard and even more expensive that the damn inverter itself. Got the inverter from Bundu power and after-sales is absolute trash, get told yes they can help install it but then get long stories...

A friend and I got it mounted, looks rather cool.

Your solution works fine, just get a little voltmeter that costs R100 and add it into it, and switch off when it hits 50%.

You won’t be able to claim a warranty on the batteries as they were damaged due to being overly discharged.

All inverters cutoff at the ridiculous low voltage setting on default settings. It's just that the more advanced ones have a custom "user" option where one can change the settings. Unfortunately most people only learn the hard way (me included back in the day) through places like this.

So, there is no warranty because there was no fault. They only fault was not sizing the battery for the job.

Easiest solution is to get a killawatt meter and measure your usage over the time you need for the rolling blackout.

Then use this calculator to see how many Ah battery you need.

Perfect time to get the hubble s-100 12V lithium battery. You can set calculator to 10% then if you want instead of 50% for lead acid.

You do have a point, you were under the impression that the products were sold fit for purpose? Was there any disclaimer anywhere that you had to sign? Who did you buy it from?

Actually uptime during loadshedding is not a priority for me. It's more of a convenience thing. I won't mind to turn off my laptop brick and additional screen if the inverter battery is going flat.
If I get the hubble s-100 12V lithium battery will i be able to use the same inverter? I cant find any user guide for this battery.
My inverter cuts off power when the battery goes below 10v.

Going to mantech today to get a voltmeter.
How does this look ?

OK, then you made a choice to select and buy products, no guarantee that used together they were fit for purpose. You were the expert.
they were sold as a bundle. They are still selling it that way.

Still no guarantee. A bundle could be a bundle of anything, a bundle of a box of Provitas and some drain cleaner does not imply that Provitas can help to unblock a drain, or that drain cleaner is good to consume with Provitas.

Maybe get something that not only displays volts but current as well as power?

It's different story if you went to a specialist store, and made a purchasing decision based on advice given by salesperson, but Makro is basically a retail grocery store.

Should I just get rid of this inverter and battery and get a new setup all together? This is less than an year old and hardly used possibly 12 -15 cycles.
I want to invest in something that will last for the next 5 years at least.

You can still get some life out of the inverter if you buy the correct Lithium batteries.

they are generator suppliers, and that is there specialty, not inverters.
Not what they told me so please sit down, before you get your panties in a twist. Also they have teams now that do the installs cause while I was there I spoke to them. Their primary was generators but they do everything. From maintenance to installs & planning
