I've seen some at Woolies. Look delicious. Wouldn't have a clue what to do with them though.

The house my family lived in from when I were 0-15 had a huge pomegranate tree. We had so many we didn't consider it exotic.

We also had a 'kweper' tree, a 'moerbei' tree, a guava, fig, and a huge (the size of two rooms) prickly pear bush. When I where little that prickly pear bush looked so ominous and scary deep inside that I didn't want to get near it.

Freaking delicious.

the fruit consists of many pips on the inside with a translucent flesh? around them. You basically just suck off the flesh? and spit out the pips.

I will have to try and get some. I had them as a kid the last time and I loved them.

Then again, I've never paid for them.

That picture is very interesting.
How big are these things? That looks like a skirting board against the wall there, and a skirting board is usually 18 cm high ?

Your post is positively Freudian :D

I have looked everywhere for pomegranates for more than a year now, so for me it was just the novelty of it - last time I held or ate a pomegranate must have been 15 years ago ! :)

No

I put them on a cabinet/table when I took the pic and what you see, is the side of the particular piece of furniture.

Thanks for the reply Blue, but ... how big are they? Are they like berries?
