Currently, I am in a position where I can't just change ISPs from one provider to another, but I feel like I just have to bite the bullet and change.

That being said, I am certain everyone knows the stubbornness of Vumatel refusing to follow Openserve and Frogfoot's example by allowing other ISPs (on the Vumatel FNO) to lower their prices.

Comparison example via Afrihost for a 50/25-50 download.
Openserve (50/25) - R797
Frogfoot (50/50) - R797
Vumatel (50/50) - R1117

Now, let us do a comparison example via Afrihost for a 100/50-100 download.
Openserve (100/50) - R917
Frogfoot (100/100) - R797
Vumatel (100/100) - R1247

I am currently (and still sadly) on a Webafrica 20/20 package that rarely disappoints and has a brilliant uptime record (even though the cost is R979 per month), but whenever there is trouble, their WhatsApp support becomes insanely congested, and you will only be assisted an hour later if not sooner, or if there is no queue.

Webafrica packages via Openserve (yeah they are extremely hipster regarding their packages)

So, here is my question...

Without being too picky, which ISP (with Vumatel as the FNO) gives the best (as well as the cheapest) service for either a 50/50 or a 100/100 package?

Accelerit is R943pm for a 50/50 package, and R1153pm for a 100/100 package.
BitCo is R999pm for a 50/50 package, and R1199pm for a 100/100 package.

Yes, Accelerit looks like the obvious preference value wise, but it is that activation fee (looks like it got cheaper (now R499)) that you have to pay should you get fibre for the first time, or via an ISP switch.

Suggestions?

If you go 100/100 Cool Ideas is R1199 would highly recommend them its same price as Bitco and a little more than Accelerit but if i recall Accelerit have some bad reviews online and here and they lock your router... CISP 50/50 seems to be a little more pricey at R1049. I personally looked at Bitco about a year and a half ago (moving from CISP) and dealing with their support was horrible... But going back to your post i would rather go Bitco than Accelerit

Sorry have to retract my statement above don't listen to my advice

The activation fee payable on Vumatel makes switching ISPs an issue - free activations seems to be a thing of the past.

I recently switched from Wondernet to Level-7. Level-7 didn't charge an activation fee.
