The best Huawei LTE routers for fast download speeds

Best LTE router does not really matter if the ISP makes it their dedicated life mission that you will not see beyond 2 Mbps. One can huff and puff and run all kinds of speedtests and traceroutes. 2Mbps will be the ceiling that covers them in the tenure of their contract/subscription.

B618 looks the best from the specs, but is not optimal choice on most SA networks due to the frequency channels limitations. So these features are only on the paper. See posts from @cavedog. There is also only one Ethernet port on this router.

The most flexible one is B525. If you are in very close distance to the tower (LOS), B612 may work better due to the 4x4MIMO, but I didn't look at details yet.

I think for Telkom the B525 is a nice router. it has 2x2 mimo and supports 2CA. In most cases on LTE-A the B525 and B618 will perform pretty much the same. On a single LTE carrier the B618 might out run the b525 because it has 4x4 mimo and we know that Rain and Telkom supports 4x4 mimo.
