The best mobile data packages available in South Africa – 120GB for R299

There are many great data deals available in South Africa, partly because the Competition Commission forced mobile networks to slash their data prices earlier this year.

In April 2020, Vodacom committed to cutting its data prices by over 30% across all of its channels in line with the Commission’s report.

Likewise, MTN agreed to reduce its data prices in according with the report – which means that both MTN and Vodacom now offer 30-day, 1GB once-off bundles for R99.

120GB ? Probably 60 anytime.
Yeah - Telkom's SmartBroadband Wireless LTE Contract 40GB is the only one that fits and its 60+60 (despite what the name says).

I am having trouble seeing the headline offer. There are 4 packages offering R299 data but none are offering 120GB data. Telkom are offering 60GB + 60GB night data which technically is 120GB data, but I am sure any network can be top that by offering 30GB anytime, and 220GB for 5mins usage of the month.

Imagine, 250GB data for R299!

Vodacom, MTN and CellC should not have made this list, they all have 24 month contracts.

Best does not equal contract, you will be locking into that pricing for the next 24 months while the other networks can introduce new specials a deals.

Although their coverage is spotty, Rain and Telkom only offer month to month and while you might not have the best internet experience with them you can cancel after a month and get something else like say Fibre.

Eg2505... you were serious...a Rain user getting more than 30GB usable during the times you need to use it.

last month I did 190 GB on my Rain SIM in my B618, so I don't know, maybe I'm just lucky?
got it as a dual sim in my phone right now, use it for streaming radio while I drive,

I suppose there are better deals, I just never find them.
