Bill Gates' biggest holdings in his portfolio

Bill Gates’ largest and most popular investment holdings in 2022 include Microsoft, Berkshire Hathaway, Waste Management, and Canadian National Railway Co. — among others.

The seven stocks featured in this article are based on recent filings from Gates, his Cascade Investment private investment firm, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Trust.

Read somewhere that Bill is the largest private owner of farmland in the US, guess that explains the John Deer investment, who I believe have some dodgy operating model.

Yup... You can't fix these yourself. You have to use their technicians. They will shut your machine down remotely if you even look at it skeef.

I kinda liked the guy, until the Jeffery Epstein link and the suspiciously timed divorce...
And internet explorer, etc.
He was forced into retirement, and a lot of the ventures he started are to improve his image (and thereby Microsoft's), but that doesn't mean that a lot of what he does (and has done) isn't also good (and that he is still the same as he was back then).
A lot of the stuff he does, like developing vaccines, that compostable toilet, etc. are all things that only someone not seeking profit can fund as there are no returns, but they are major improvements for the quality of life in those regions.

I don't really care about the man or his personal wealth. Most of what he has done has been a poor copy of something he had seen elsewhere, but delivered with impeccable timing and leverage. I do care that he has acquired a significant stake in, literally, people's daily sustenance, without being elected to that position. His personal whims are fundamentally a bad basis for anything substantial, but also for pragmatic "balance of power" reasons.

Today, Gates is still the fifth richest person in the world with a net worth of $114 billion (R1.9 trillion) and largely focuses on venture philanthropy via the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
FTFY
F****er won't invest in anything if it can't add to his wealth or power over people's lives.
Someone mentioned vaccines. Yes, he invested heavily and he's reaping the rewards now and probably well into the future.
