Okay so they make the phone but because you buy it from unofficial local channels its seen as inferior? Oh please...

Oh and does this mean you cant subscribe to BIS with a grey import BB?
 
I have the phone from CaCell.co.za - I even collected it from Autopage Sandton City. The phone is fast due to the 512MB memory, the new BlackBerry 6 OS is very easy to use and the 5MP camera is great with auto-focus and flash.

uhm i thought grey products are real....it's just imported through other channels LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
so they say BB's sold in the UK are inferior to ones sold in SA? must be Africa hey?

Curve 8900

I took my BB 8900 back to MTN today, this after the phone decided that I'm not worthy to send email's anymore on my accord. How the h*ll does the "Send" option disappear when you want to compose and send an email G*d alone knows. That said though I could respond without issue to incoming email. This would be the 3rd time I'm taking a BB back to the provider :mad:. Will I get another BB phone, hell No! :sick: That said, Nokia's C7 might just be my next phone....role on contract, expire already :love:
 
RIM and Apple should be sued for uncompetitive trading.
 
If the official manufacturers could just get their act together and get new devices available to us within a reasonable timeframe of the international launch, we wouldn't turn to grey imports to provide us with our new technologies.

Fortunately for RIM, I'm addicted to my Torch already and to switch to the new Bold would seem like a downgrade. However, if the Torch2 or a much better touchscreen BB was launched, I would also be foaming at the mouth if I had to wait for the official channels to get it. I'd likely also go with a grey import. Tech is tech is tech! As long as it has a warranty of a reasonable timeframe, I'm happy.
 
Oooh, if you go with CaCell you only get an inferior 1 year guarantee, whereas with RIM you get a full "12 months"...lol
 
Also got mine at cacell but it is like a dumb phone coming from android. I have an ipad which fills the gap but without that I would hate the bb expperience.

Also the 9780 is plagued with issues. There is a double / tripple key press issue a lot of ppl have including me. The R key doesn't reply to sms. The os 6 on an upgraded 9700 works so why 9780 doesn't work is bizarre.

So if looking for a smart phone get android or iphonne. If you in need of good email/bbm/im and sick of hi tech then get a bb.
