The 'Brotherly Shove', the rugby maul in NFL

They should just ban it already, rugby does mauls better.

My opinion may or may not have been influenced by the Eagles beating my beloved Chiefs earlier this week.

Getting back to its roots.

The offensive and defensive lines in American football were once-upon-a-time rugby packs. As proto-American football developed, the extreme violence of the scrum and the injuries it was causing needed to be addressed, so the scrum was eliminated, and the respective packs evolved in to the offensive and defensive lines.

Sure buddy. The 1.85m 100kg quarterback for the Eagles squats 281kg and he's not even close to one of the big guys on that team.

How many hits do you see from the Boks leaving okes spazing out with fencing reflex afterwards? Or hits so hard they stopped a dudes heart?

Both are hectically physical sports.

Agree both are hectic. Just saying body on body contact is not the same as ramming your opponent with a helmet into their padded outfits.

Anybody worth their salt at a gym can squat 281kg.

I want to see that qb run at some forwards when he has no protection.
