Poverty is to blame for crime? No

Central banks blamed for poverty? No

perhaps read the Keynes statement again, confiscation is essentially theft
Okay I think I get it now.

You mistakenly think money is a store of wealth (an asset) and you are confused that it's value(purchasing power) decreases(inflation)?

Wtf has that got to do with colonialism and crime?

Okay great. We're making progress. So like this "confiscation" because of inflation back the the thread topic.

I don't know what world you live in, but we are done.

If you believe money doesn't have to store value, then there is no point continuing.

From what I gather, saturnz is talking about another type of crime than the rest of us (we are talking house break- ins, robberies, muggings, theft out of vehicles), that is where your confusion comes from, just leave him be.
Most of the times these crimes are committed by the poor. They also pollute the most. I think we can blame all our problems on the poor.

Money is a tool to make trade easier. A common mediam so that we don't have to barter 1 chicken for a slice of cow for an hours labour. You can just get a piece of paper that we roughly agree the value of and go and buy whatever you like. Nothing more, nothing less. It is not a store of wealth.

You are wrong. This thread has taught me all our problems come from some magical central bank and the fact that they confiscated our money. Or that because of them money has no value. Or it has value but it's still confiscated. Or tax evasion is ok cause of inflation. Or colonialism.
Wait, I'm not sure anymore.

you have yet to provide a reference for your definition of money, and once again, refer to the Keynes statement
Geez dude follow the conversation. We are on tax now. The money the government steals is the tax we pay for nothing.

so this is the definition of money we see in economics textbooks then

You have clearly never seen any form of textbook in your life. Also Wikipedia is a very high level representation of the truth - never use that as an absolute reference.
