This explains a lot - especially if you remember she was once speaker of the house & deputy president under Motlanthe.

How can anyone so ignorant of everyday facts and definitions be in charge of anyone else?

No wonder Zuma proudly declared corruption is only a crime in a western paradigm.. if you don't define it it doesn't affect you apparently.

The colonists brought it, the comrades perfected it.

Similar to how cricket was invented in England, but perfected elsewhere (as the saying goes)

That interview was a beautiful microcosm of modern-day South Africa
Mbete is and has been, one of the "leaders" in charge of SA for a very long time now. The interview has shown her to be completely out of her depth, when challenged by logic and intellect. It has also shown her to be completely out of touch with reality and helplessly incompetent, all these politicians in their ivory towers and surrounded by bodyguards.
Dumb lip-flapping excuses may be accepted by the ANC's own constituency, but they expose her for the fool she is, when the audience has the capability to critically analyze and owes her no fealty.
This exposed her beautifully for the useless individual and politician she is. It also exposed the ANC magnificently.

I haven’t read the whole thread, don’t know if this has been posted, but this is a piece about this interview written by the very fine author Jonny Steinberg

As great as this read may be, I can guarantee she lost absolutely no sleep over it.

In her mind, nothing is the fault of the ANC, of their own doing, and it never will be. They found their schitty scapegoat, as flimsy as it is, and they will all sit in an echo chamber of self-congratulatory smugness, patting themselves and their peers on the back that it wasn't their fault but, by her own words, the Europeans.

It's as bad as the antivax movement

As I said in the original thread i made for this interview/debate, it was very entertaining because at one stage she literally looks like she wants to cry and tries hard to keep it back when he keeps hammering on her non-action in a role meant to keep MPs inline.

That and it was nice to have such a brutal take down without the usual forum racist rhetoric.. something people on here need to learn from if we to have a functional state.. but yah i know.. i'm dreaming, people prefer degrading themselves.

Totally agree. She has absolutely no bad feelings and still think she was in the right. She, and the millions of followers probably all believe the same. Any person with a conscience would never have agreed to such interview knowing what happened. Something sinister is brewing in that brain.

Crime imported but perfected in South Africa!

Best of all is, it has not even been perfected. In fact, it has not even been improved. The only thing is that they committed their crimes in full view of the country, using laws and armed forces to protect them while they were doing it, believing they are entitled to it.

You guys laughing at Baleka - if she’s not your next president, it’ll be someone dumber than her.

What brain - she clearly showed (for all the world to see) that she does not have one.

Exactly that.
