How much it costs to boil a kettle

MyBroadband tested the power consumption of various appliances and devices to see how much it costs to run them and found a kettle to be the most expensive.

We measured power draw with a Kill-A-Watt meter, which also calculates the cost based on a constant price per unit, for which we used R2.56 per kilowatt-hour (kWh).

Mate of mine's company recently added solar and battery backup to their building
When people started complaining about not being able to make coffee during loadsheds the boss laughed and said "I'm not paying half a mil extra for you to make coffee. Suck it up"

So, how will one compare the electric kettle to boiling on gas? Would love to see the break down on this. For 39c I might even get myself an electric kettle again.
It's fairly comparable costwise since gas prices went up

Most companies don't have any of those even on generators.

It would also be good to know what consumption is used when boiling 1 cup of water in a kettle and comparing it to boiling a full kettle

Probably worried about the peak power drawn (2kW) rather than the energy comsumed over the 4 minutes (156Wh).

Cellular chargers please? Because although I know there may be more than 5 Billion out there in active use, there has been more energy spent mindlessly telling us to unplug them to save electricity.
